Half Moon Park & Thompson Park

The park shelters are available for reservation by calling City Hall at 507-553-6371.

Park Equipment Safety Warnings:

  • Playground equipment is for age-appropriate use only.
  • Parental supervision is required.
  • Alcohol  and tobacco use is prohibited.
  • Contact City Hall for non-emergencies at 507-553-6371/Dial 911 for emergencies.
  • Please contact the City of Wells to report broken/worn equipment, suspicious behavior, vandalism, etc.

Summer Recreation

Summer Recreation Programs: 

Summer Park & Rec Mass Registration is scheduled for Saturday,
April 25, 2020 from 9 am – noon in the lobby of City Hall, 125 S Broadway. 

At this time we are unsure if the effects of the COVID-19 virus will impact mass registration and summer rec.  Please look to this page as well as our Facebook page for any updates.  Thank you!


The City of Wells offers a variety of summer programs for the area youth:

    • Baseball and softball leagues are offered to youth completing grades 3 - 6 and runs approximately 6 weeks from June to mid-July.
    • T-ball and baseball are offered to children completing Pre-K -  2nd grade and runs approximately 3 weeks beginning in mid-June.
    • Soccer for children ages 4 to 14 is offered and runs for approximately 6 weeks from August to mid-September.
    • Tennis is offered to youth who have completed 3rd grade and up and runs approximately 5 weeks from mid-June to mid-July.
    • A 3-day Golf Clinic is held in mid-June for youth who have completed grades 4 - 8.


Summer Rec sign up sheets for 2020 are not yet available.  When they are available, which will be around mid-April,  you will be able to print them off using the links below or pick them up at City Hall.

Lap Swim: Tuesday & Thursday:  7:00 - 8:00 am; 5:00 - 6:00 pm 
Adult Swim: Monday - Friday: 12:30 - 1:30 pm

Daily:  $4.00 all day, all ages; $2 evening only

2020 Swimming Lessons
Red Cross swimming lessons will be conducted at the Wells swimming pool. Lessons are held Monday through Friday for 40-45 minutes and run for two weeks per session. 
The fee for lessons is $30.00.

 Session 1:  June 15 - June 26  10:00 am - 10:45 am
 Session 2:  July 6 - July 17  11:00 am - 11:40 am
 Session 3:  July 27 - August 7  11:45 am - 12:30 am

2020 Fees & Information

The Wells Golf Club is a nine-hole executive style course that offers something for every skill type with (4) par fours and (5) par threes. It has been a proud member of the Wells community since 1934.

The clubhouse and course are available to rent for graduations, reunions, showers, parties, etc. or if you are looking to host a tournament or a fundraiser for your organization, call the clubhouse to book your event or if you have questions.

Registration: All players must register before playing. Non-members must pay green fee.

Hazards: All trees, unless marked, are hazards. Ball may be lifted two club lengths. 

Out-of-Bounds: All fences and boundary roads are out of bounds. Balls are not playable from out-of-bounds.The penalty for a ball out-of-bounds shall be one stroke and distance. 

Carts: Motorized golf carts are permited on the golf course but must be registered at City Hall to drive on city streets.
