Why Wells?

Wells, Minnesota is a progressive town of 2,300 located in Faribault County. It is strategically located between Mankato (35 miles), Albert Lea (20 miles) and Blue Earth (25 miles). Amenities and attractions include: new K-12 school - United South Central, St Casimir’s private K-6 school, summer recreation programs, the historic Flame Theater, Depot Museum, Veterans Memorial Park, library, community center, municipal liquor store, senior living options and a municipal airport.

With over 80 acres of parks including Half Moon and Thompson parks, Wells provides many recreational opportunities. Wells, Minnesota is seeking a City Administrator

General Duties: Under the limited direction, this managerial position is responsible for all administrative affairs of the City and is responsible for organizing, directing, and coordinating City government operations in accordance with policies and administrative direction provided by the Mayor and City Council. This position serves as the chief spokesperson for the City and provides professional guidance to the council; and performs related work as required. Salary will be based upon education and experience.

ATTENTION WELLS CITIZENS! Below is a link to the Wells North Broadway/3rd Avenue project website! This site will be modified and updated as construction progresses and will be a great tool to keep residents informed. Affected residents will also receive a paper copy of the initial newsletter with information regarding the project website and how to sign up. This first newsletter will be sent out once we get closer to the start of construction.

Highways 22 & 109 are tentatively scheduled for reconstruction through Wells in 2026. MNDOT is in the early stages of project development and would like any community feedback. Click on the link below to participate! Thank you!
